1. Keep your coffee hot all day

Coffee is the fuel for the workspace. It keeps you awake and productive. But walking back and forth between your desk and the coffee machine can be time-consuming. How about a solution to that problem: set one pot of coffee, keep it on your desk and use a self warming coffee mug! This mug keeps your coffee hot as long as the battery lasts. And if it dies, just use the wireless charging pad as a coaster.

2. Earbuds or headphones are a must

If you are at work at home with your screaming kids around you all day or in the office with your colleges talking bullsh*t when you need to focus to make that deadline. You definitely need some kind of earbuds to keep them out. I personally use the Apple Airpods, but they are not great at keeping out any noise. If I need to get my head down and focus I use the Soundcore Life Q30. They are absolutely amazing and a steal, especially in the sale.

3. Logitech MX Master 3

The MX Master 3 is one of the best wireless mice you can buy right now. It’s perfect for productivity workflows, so if you’re a student, developer, coder, creative, or web browsing power user – you might want to grab one. The sideways scroll wheel makes it way easier to zoom in and out of programs like Photoshop or Illustrator. And the buttons on the side, as well as the gesture button, are a great feature in every program!

4. Standing desk

Definitely don’t mess around with your health while working. Keep a good posture by standing up for a while instead of sitting down all day. Research has found that it relieves lower back or neck pain. And it even suggests a small decrease in blood pressure. I recently bought an electronic standing desk from IKEA and love working with it. They are unfortunately discontinued, but here a great alternative!

5. Hourglass

Why would you use such an out of fashion item to track the time instead of just using your phone? Your phone is a distraction, if you like it or not. When you’re deeply focused on your work, you don’t want any unwanted messages popping up. The hourglass also doesn’t have an alarm, which keeps you working if you are in the flow at the moment of it running out. I recommend this hourglass, just because it looks good on your desk.

6. Water bottle

Water keeps every system in the body functioning properly. It is definitely a must on every desk. I personally keep one on my desk all day long and fill it up about three times a day. In time, it becomes natural to drink all day long. I’ve got a nice looking Dopper myself.

7. Item and cable case

Look around your workspace. Is there anything that shouldn’t be there? If there is, then remove it. Everything you put on your desk should have a practical purpose. If it’s there just for ornament or if it doesn’t help you in any way, then you should get rid of it. To do that, you need a space to store those items. I use a cable case for that purpose. With that you can easily sort your items like: charging cable, SD cards, powerbank or even an external SSD or hard drive.

8. Mechenical keyboard

Mechanical keyboards are usually associated with gaming, but they make for an amazing typing experience. If you need to write articles or papers, it could help speed up your workflow. I’m writing this at the moment on the mechanical keyboard I’ve been using for the last ten years. It never failed on me even once. In the near future, I’m planning on building my own from scratch. That way, you can customize any key individually. Next to choosing the mechanical switches you prefer and completely go for the feeling you like.
